The Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is highlighting the work of the Consumer Satisfaction Team Alliance of Pennsylvania (CSTAP).
CSTAP is a proud program of the Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers' Association (PMHCA), a statewide membership organization representative of the individual and collective expression of people who have recovered or are recovering from mental illness. CSTAP’s mission is to promote consumer satisfaction endeavors and to provide support, resources, and information to approximately 40 Consumer and Family Satisfaction Teams in Pennsylvania. We support Consumer and Family Satisfaction Teams as an essential vehicle for the consumer voice in the commonwealth.
This 14-minute presentation is a supplement to our peer-driven 2008 CSTAP Recovery Oriented Systems Indicators, ROSI for Individuals Pilot Report created by having 11 Consumer Satisfaction Teams covering 12 counties throughout the commonwealth facilitate face-to-face interviews of consumers, survivors, and persons in recovery using the Pennsylvania public mental health system. The presentation and report are available from the links above or directly from the CSTAP web site, www.cstap.org.
Parts of this presentation juxtaposition visual text that seems contradictory to the audio commentary and testimonials. This is not unintentional, in that this presentation piece represents a cumulative voice of participating consumers, survivors, and persons in recovery utilizing the public mental health system with varying degrees of hindering and helpful support experiences. Please feel free to contact CSTAP and your local CFSTs if you would like to invest in creating community and organizational dialogues utilizing this presentation and accompanying report.
Special thanks to all satisfaction teams who continually inform and drive CSTAP’s efforts and activities and the 340 individuals who shared their frank experiences and truths by completing the ROSI surveys included in our report.
